Dear Mayor
It is with sadness that I write this email to you about what has happened in the community of Ekurhuleni
My name is Neo Seale and I had booked a venue at Alberton Civic Center for a function which was scheduled to take place from on the 9th of August 2014. I booked it earlier on this year.
I was given a booking form and I booked the hall and I was informed that it has been confirmed.
I was just told that I must pay before my event.
The price that I was quoted was R3996.00 for the Main Hall which included the deposit for the full day.
When I went to go pay, I was informed that the venue has gone up to R14400.00 which is highly irregular. How does a venue increase R10404.00?
Based on the fact that the purpose of community halls are to be used for the benefit of the community. Now that we are being charged so much money, does this mean that community halls are now no longer accessible to communities?
I am citizen who pays my rates and taxes towards my municipality and i feel i should be allowed to use facilities that are made accessible to the public
This is unjust and morally wrong.
Please help by rectifying this unjust action to the public.
