Every single time I have to go into the Post Office at Aston Manor there is a long line of people waiting to be served and you can expect to wait a minimum of 45 minutes in line. There are 5 desks of which there are never more than 2 manned. There are however, a few staff milling around in the back.
The staff members who are serving the customers, are not concerned about amount of people waiting and cannot be bothered to even walk a little faster when collecting a parcel from the back.
I have witnessed elderly people and a heavily pregnant lady waiting in line for more that half an hour.
Today, the air conditioning was broken and we had to stand in line for the usual 45 minutes in the sweltering heat with absolutely no fresh air. There are no windows in the building.
Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to wait until I could get to the front of the line, which means I will have to go back to collect a letter that's too big for my post box. I shall set aside a day for this and make sure to take along a seat, lunch and lots of cold water, and perhaps a tent.
