My husband kindly purchased a Groupon for me to have moles removed by electro cauterizing at Sandton beauty clinic. I booked and arrived keen to have 6 moles removed from my back. The "beauty specialist" Faeeza introduced herself and checked my skin for any sunspots/moles and apply Emla cream (an anesthetic cream) on the visible ones - yes, literally in the reception area! I should have run a mile when I heard a patient screaming in pain behind closed doors... An assistant led me into a room and told me to get undressed and sit on the bed. I did so and then waited for about half an hour, while staff and a patient sauntered in and out of the room, while I sat half naked! The assistant applied more Emla cream and assured me that with the Emla cream it wouldn't hurt at all. Faeeza came in an started the procedure - It was THE MOST pain I have even experienced! It was more painful than having a cesarean! I left the offices having had 23 areas burned and I n the brink of tears, obviously after being bullied into making a follow up appointment. The cherry on the cake was when my GP told me today that he administers a local anesthetic beforehand as Emla cream does not work,
Never again!
