I love this place and shop here every month and all the staff are very professional but today I saw a baby dwarf hamster drowning in a water dish. I couldn't open the cage myself to save him so I called a lady to help me she pulled him out and wrapped him in a tissue like it was nothing and told me he was dead she didn't even make sure he was dead, she appeared to have no respect for the poor animal. I told who I suspect is the owner, he just starred at me showing no concern and he never said a word. Poorly handled on his part. I understand they can't watch the animals all day but really why give a large bowl to a baby dwarf hamster in the 1st place. The only way for it to drink would be to climb in the bowl but being so deep he couldn't get out, even though the water was shallow. Being exhausted from trying to get out he drowned and died in front of me I'm still in tears about it, I feel heartbroken. I'm disgusted at the fact a pet store has so little common sense about the care for these little animals and I'm appalled at the way it was handled. It was traumatic for me being an animal lover to have to see something like that. As I left the bowl still had not been changed?
