Over the last 2 days I have been harassed and verbally abused by theresa williams at the ara group. At one point in today's interaction, after begging to be allowed to speak, she casually replied after finishing her diatribe (something she seems to enjoy too much), '' now you may speak''. I was flabbergasted! I am an adult and, more importantly, a human being and feel that we can at least afford each other some dignity. Why I had the misfortune of dealing with the soulless and inept theresa williams will remain a mystery. And while I can understand these debt collectors need to have 'thick skin', the tactic must be applied on a case by case basis. This individual was unprofessional from the outset and had the nerve to refer to my demeanor when she had in fact directly caused my distress. There are ways in which we need to conduct ourselves in our respective professions and in society & theresa williams is clueless. Why should one be made to feel less or like a criminal when one is trying to settle a debt owed? Why do people like theresa williams exist? Perhaps to remind us that there is a line that must not be crossed. Her conduct was indecent & shameful.
