I live on a small holding with my parents which is state pensioners. My electricity bills have been ranging the past 2 years between R2000 and R3000. In august i got a bill of over R11 000. When i went to see Debra she explained they don't have any contractors and have been under estimating my account for a year. With a heavy heart i agreed to pay it off over a year. she said its my responsibility to send in the readings every month. I gave her a reading again in October and got a R16 000 bill for the month apart from the other bill which i still had to pay. I went back gave her yet again another reading and one of the metres was lower than the previous reading. whether the mistake was on my part or hers i don't know. this month i send in a photo with the readings and my bill was R2500. The previous bill have not been adjusted just added. so i got a bill of over R20 000. this is why over my pay grade but because they have the monopoly they don't care, they can just cut your power if they want. Which they haven't as yet. I did forward her a complaint and also send it to [Email Removed] I requested they check the meter box, they say nothing is wrong.
