Our usual electricity bill is around R400 per month. For April it jumped to R1142. In a call to Tswhane we where told, sorry the two previous two meter readings where just estimates, this is the bill is based on an actual reading and this is what you have to pay.
So I did, and you would assume the account goes to zero, the next few months the bill is normal.
End of July, massive bill of R1852. Emailed Tswhane and again where told this was due to estimated readings and that this is what we have to pay: "We had to charge you from the last actual reading to the current one. There is nothing wrong with the account and the charges thereof."
Fine, I am not disputing the "actual readings" but what about the amount I've already paid? Surely, the amount outstanding is the total usage for that period, less what I HAVE ALREADY PAID?
A call to Tshwane got me nowhere: "You have to pay, there is nothing to dispute". They have also refused to close the account (we are moving) until this amount is paid. So I have paid it. And I have proof of all the payments made.
So the account should now be in credit:
Usage, 2370 KWH: R 2558.71
Paid: R 3894.00
Outstanding: R -1335.29
