I visited the Soul Space Festival at Kloofzicht today and it would be criminal not to write to you about my experience.
The entry fee of R125 was exorbitant for what you got and also bearing in mind it was a helluva drive for most people. And on top of that you still had to pay for every little "workshop/session". Just the "sound therapy" session alone was an additional R100, with no prior warning, no sign, nothing... only once you sat down and got comfortable were you told "R100 please"! That's R225 for less than an hour at a festival! And then you've only attended ONE session and not even bought food, drinks or anything else.
Nowhere did the organisers give prior warning/information to people about the prices of the different events/sessions/workshops. The impression that was created on advertising was that these were all part of the entry fee. Only once you had taken the drive all the way to Kloofzicht, paid R125 and started walking around did you realise you still had to pay for events. Had they not mislead the public with these exorbitant fees I would most definitely not have gone.
