We arranged for Emma's Cakes in Cape Town to prepare a wedding cake for our wedding on the 22nd December 2012.
The agreed upon design was a three tier chocolate mud cake with one false tier in order to get the desired height but still have enough cake for all our guests.
A gentleman by the name of Tony was handling our cake and was not very approachable during the entire ordeal for any sort of follow-up session and it was extremely difficult to communicate with him as he generally would just say "dont have time, we covered in chocolate".
To cut a very long story short, on the day they delivered a completely fake cake to the event, with only a very small top tier being real cake. To add insult to injury, the actual cake was delivered to us in dirty plastic containers; the stacking for each cake tier was atrocious and the icing not even smooth. It was like a child had prepared a cake that we paid ALOT of money for.
To whomever reads this, please be extremely careful when you deal with these individuals, they are very unprofessional and very unskilled at a profession that is really the centre piece of your special wedding day.
