My family and I decided to take a drive through the highly recommended Lion and Rhino park in the Cradle of Human kind area (in the West Rand) this past Saturday.
This was the first time our family has driven through this so call reserve. We have been to Kruger National park, Addo Elephant Park and Etosha (Namibia) plenty of times, but thought visiting the Lion and Rhino park would be fun for the children.
The park is well maintained and the animals are extremely well fed and in good condition.
After much driving around in the reserve we decided to stop at their visitors center to view the highly spoken animal cr? che.
While walking from the parking lot to the animal cr? che, the visitors pass the mini zoo... a disgusting and very, very sad surprise I saw two bat eared fox's in an outside cage that was not at all big enough for them to run in.
They were constantly whimpering and seemed so stressed. Then came the Nile crocodiles, there must have been about 10 in a small rounded space with limited water.
Then we arrived at the animal cr? che and our hearts were sore. The cubs seemed to have enough space, but when you walk to the cages/areas where the leopard
