I recently posted a complaint against FNB home loans and the delays in getting a paid up bond cancelled; the property transferred into buyers' names and registration of a new bond, also with FNB.
I received a phone call on Monday. The caller identified himself as Jonathan from STBB (the bond cancellation attorneys) - my complaint had been brought to his attention too - don't know by whom. Despite not being responsible for all of the hassles, Jonathan apologised. I was impressed, and happy to accept his apology. But then he went further and said the cancellation fees paid by me would be refunded. I said that was not necessary - the apology was enough - but Jonathan insisted. Within an hour of his phone call I got an sms alert from my bank, advising that a payment had been made into my account by STBB in Cape Town.
That was a WOW moment: Thank you Jonathan, and STBB. You've restored my faith in corporates.
