Non Completion after account is paid in full

I had a Loan with Absa but lost my job so I could only pay the minimum for 1Year 7months they gave me over to RL Daly but I was very lucky to find a job last year. I went through FNB to settle my loan 3weeks ago. I tried to take out a cell contract yesterday only to find that my name was still bad. I have a ITC report from Trans Union stating that my name was clear. I contacted RL Daly and all I was told is that they were still busy with the paperwork that had to be sent to ABSA to clear my name, I was not told about a time frame even though I asked.
Why after 3weeks has this not been sorted out. It was easy to take my money even though I basically had nothing but to clear my name is such a battle and effort for them.
