Inconsiderate decision by the Discovery Medical Board...
What will one of the board members do if they are going blind, and are denied critical medicine that might save their sight?
The claim for medicine recently declined by the "BOARD" at Discovery might mean the difference that I retain my eye sight.
The eye specialists have tried all avenues, and have unsuccessfully transplanted one cornea already.
To strengthen the eyes, I require the medication "CELLCEPT". This medication will assist in the repair process of the eyes to allow for another cornea transplant (Which we haveto pay R 15 000.00 upfront, and then battle to get it reimbursed).
The previous medicine prescribed did not have any affect on the healing process.
I ask once again, why am I denied this medicine, as a pensioner I cannot afford this R4500.00 per month for this critical medicine, and would like an answer?
This is why we have a medical aid!!!
Why do we constantly have to fight to have our claims paid???
But wow, Discovery doesn't hesitate to take our money at the end of the month!!!
Waiting for an urgent response!!!
