I joined Old Mutual Medical Scheme in April 1978. After many years we were transfered to Caremed, then to Oxygen, then to Medscheme and now to Medshieldl I never asked to be transfered. Anyway after 35 years of being a member of the medical aid I had to have root canal treatment done on 2 teeth and crowns fitted. They paid for part of the root treatment but nothing for the crowns. I then went to have my eyes tested for the 1st pair of spectacles after 35 years and they would not even pay for the eye test, let alone the lenses. They do not pay for any of my monthly meds, so please tell me why am I paying for a medical aid???
