I would just like to compliment Liberty Medical Scheme. I get R1700 casualty cover per year, on condition that I obtain authorization within 48 hours. I was mugged and severely beaten up in November 2012 and as I was extremely traumatized, I only realised when the hospital bills arrived that I had not called them. I called and spoke with one of the heads of authorizations and explained what had happened to him. He immediately said that he understood this was an exceptional circumstance and I was given an authorization number and the full bill was taken care of. I really do appreciatte this as I know I did not follow policy guidelines but that the staff took the compassion to understand why. This made me decide to renew my policy with Liberty for another year and I see no reason to change any time soon.
