Garmap
Sharp Practice

About five years ago I purchased a Garmin GPS. It was expensive as are all products when they first become available. The problem with a GPS is that it goes out of date quite rapidly and has to be upgraded at least every two years. This is extremely expensive. Total cost including purchase about R6000.00
Last month I purchased another Garmin and part of the deal was free Map Upgrades for life. Total cost R1200.00
I elected to give my old GPS a final upgrabe and only use it in stable areas. To my horror they wanted a lot of money for the upgrade. I sent them an email suggesting the cost of upgrade was tantamount to Sharp Practice
I received a response from them with a 24 hour contact time limit on 07 January and am still awaiting an explanation of my accusations
I must have been closer to the truth than I expected???

MORAL OF THE STORY
1. Buy a GPS with a lifelong map upgrade facility.

2. Do not expect any assistance/sympathy from the Garmap Support Team
