After signing up with the Academy of York in 2011, they promised wonderful things and a qualification that would mean something, turns out to not be true.
I unfortunately had a financial setback and was unable to pay my full monthly installment. I was happy to continue paying for something I never even completed through them because I did sign the contract so after explaining my situation and agreeing to a payment of R50 per month until such time that I was able to pay more.
Everything was fine and payment was being received by them for 6 consecutive months and then suddenly I start getting calls for money again. I explained that an arrangement was made and then suddenly no-one knew about this arrangement. I explained again and they left it at that. Then suddenly because full payment was not being received (even though i had made an arrangement with them) I get told that the bursary was withdrawn and I now owe them more than double, EXCUSE ME??
I think this is discrimination on a whole new level, because I cant afford the payment anymore I should be penalised an additional R6500.00? Consumer protection act here I come. Rather study through companies with a good name in future.
