I have recently removed my son from Smiley Kids Kempton Park due to their lack of attention to detail with regards to security. My 3-year old son was found wandering in the street outside the school waiting for his mom to fetch him. The school had not noticed that he had left the school building as well as the school premises. If his mother did not arrive to fetch him when she did he could have gone missing or been knocked over by a vehicle. On a separate occasion there were cleaning detergents left on the table next to the children having their lunch. On a third occasion in the same week, work was being carried out on the carports at the school and power tools - grinders, welding machine etc - were left unattended outside my son's classroom. There were grinding discs left on the floor, used welding rods and steel offcuts lying around. On the same day that these tools were left lying around, there was a staff member sleeping with her head on the table in the playground. I have left numerous messages for the principal to contact me and still have received no contact to date.
