I arrived on campus this morning in time to print off a document required for a meeting which I had at 9:00. As DLABS are closed for registration, I went over to ELABS as I needed to access my Email account.
Upon arrival at ELABS there were three lab staff manning the door asking for student cards and proof of registration. As I had registered last week, my proof of registration was at home as this is not usually required to enter ELABS.
The staff were unwilling to even allow me to log on to the student portal to show them my proof of registration even though there were three of them there sitting doing nothing. The computer lab was empty. They made my go all the way to the library which doesn't have MS WORD which is what my document was formatted in.
As a result, I was 15 minutes late for an important meeting. I understand there is a need to control access to the labs during orientation week, but to treat existing students with such disdain and the unwillingness to be flexible to unacceptable. The person responsible's name is Solly and even laughed at me when I told him I was going to complain
Someone please speak to the lab staff, their behaviour is totally unacceptable.
