Tried to register since June 2012 - Stud 53308387

I contacted Unisa in June 2012 and they told me I had to wait until January 2013 to register. I have in the meantime applied, paid my fees and sent the documents requested. The wait was very long for January, but I was extremely excited that I would at least start. When I tried to register online (as I could not get through on the telephone and the closest branch, George, is an hour away by car and I'm a full time employee), I could not, as there was a problem somewhere. I repeatedly tried to phone the George branch, and when I could eventually get through, they told me they needed a copy of my matric certificate (although I had sent it with my application info) and that I had to bring it myself. Put out because I had to take leave at work, I went to George, but there they told me that they had to send the document to Pretoria and that they could not take the block off my account so that I could register. I therefore can only start in June 2013 (if I can manage to register!).
Telephoning has been a complete waste of time, as I have sat holding on for hours with no one answering, or the phone engaged. Even the ombudsman!!!
I feel like giving up, but hope to start in Jan 2013. HELP
