I have received a marked assignment from UNISA, the mark given to me was 69%. Upon reviewing the returned assignment i noted that there were no indications of where marks were allocated for each question, nor were there comments where i had made errors. I contacted the lecturer (Mrs HJ van Niekerk) on 2013/08/27 who forwarded my query to the marker (M Mogashoa). i was informed that there was a problem during the "redistribution phase" and this is an "IT problem". I was told by M Mogashoa on the same day that he/she cannot do anything about it and cannot remark my assignment as he/she has "too much on their plate". I asked Mrs van Niekerk about my options, she responded by saying that it is "obviously" an IT problem and directed me to their IT support.
Am i expected to merely accept my mark with no justification? Am i to repeat the same mistakes? This impacts severely on my assignment marks and subsequently my exams. What guarantee do i have that my assignment was even marked at all??
Students are clearly left to fend for themselves and accept marks, no questions asked.
