I have been researching schools and pre-primary schools. Many of the schools I contacted were open, welcomed me to survey their premises, meet teachers and observe teaching methods.
The exception is Hardford.
My call was answered by an administrator with poor telephone etiquette, who informed me that:
You are only permitted you to visit the school on selected open days for "security reasons".
You cannot have an application form, you have to wait for open day.
The school does not plan in advance for 2015 enrolments; you have to wait for open day in 2014.
You cannot set up an appointment to meet the principal; you can only meet her on open days.
You cannot have any questions you may have answered until open day.
You cannot evaluate and compare schools you are interested because you have to wait for open day.
Under no circumstances can you observe teaching methods and teaching aids used. You need to wait for open day.
I phoned back a second to make to make sure I understood correctly and was told "why do I want to send your child to Hardford, you can send her to another school."
Sounds like there are many secrets behind closed doors.
