In September 2012, I commissioned Gap Project Management to enclose my balcony. The total job was R45k and of course I had to pay him upfront to the amount of R40k. To date I am still waiting for him to finish the project. The plaster is cracking. The windows leak, the doors don't close properly. The roof extension is too short. The roof beams and struts are rotting. He then put in a ceiling to hide the poor workmanship and this also has not been completed. He then has the cheek to tell me I am just complaining and I just want more than I have paid for. I still have not received the building certificate. So the end story is if you are looking for a contractor go to NHBRC and find one and don't pay upfront.
