We received a quote from Matt at Vibraneat to plaster our vibracrete wall and extend it with wood. The quote was itemised but the payment policy was 50% deposit upfront and the remaining 50% on completion of the project. We paid the deposit.
Once the plastering was complete, he refused to continue the wood work saying that we needed to pay the remainder of the bill for the plastering work. At this time he sent threatening emails saying that his workmen were enraged by the fact that 'we had not paid' and he had given them permission to come and talk to us directly.
After a few telephone conversations in which he continued to shout and not listen to our response that we had paid 50% deposit and would pay the remainder on completion, we realised that he did not have the capital to buy the remaining materials to complete the job. Stupidly, we decided to pay the additional amount given his word that he would then complete the work.
Not too surprisingly, in hindsight, we have not heard from him since.
