We contacted them for a quotation for repairs to be done on our home roof and gutters. They gave a quotation and we paid more than the deposit amount as we were told they are a reputable company with many years of experience and permanent staff. During the time before Christmas the owner of the company dropped one or two staff members at our house to do the repairs. He only dropped them off and picked them up again. He did not inspect their work. One of the staff members told us that he is not a permanent staff member and was picked from the street. On the 21st of December the owner told us that he is closing for Christmas and need the balance of the money because he have to pay his staff bonuses. He will return in January to complete the job which was not done. We refused to pay until the job was done. He did not contact us in January and only phoned in February to make an appointment to come see us which he did not pitch for. Now suddenly he is invoicing us for the balance of work not done. With a threat of further action if we do not pay within 7 days.
