Palm Pools was contracted during quarter 4 of 2012, to do an installation of a fibre-glass swimming-pool at my residence in Waterkloof-Ridge.
After the shell was levelled in the hole, they requested an advance payment to buy the pool-pump, heat-pump and concrete for the ring-beam, kreepy and other accessories.
An amount of R 30 000 was advanced, two days later on Wednesday we received a curt e-mail stating that they are in financial difficulty and won't be returning to complete the installation. They subsequently disappeared with our money, having us out of approximately R 30K cash, the accumulative damages amounted to approximately R 60K.
Criminal charges of and have been laid with the SAPS. Their company was not liquidated - they simply took our money and disappeared.
