I paid for a cupboard job & ceiling job - the payment terms are: pay for materials in full & 50% of labour. On arrival, another payment of 25% and on completion, final 25%. For the ceiling job, he was paid in Full. He never finished it off, the worst job you have ever seen. The cupboard job, he has received, 75% payment. He removed the cupboards so badly that some material that had to be used again, had to be thrown away. No work was ever done and to this day no materials have ever been delivered. We contacted him numerous times, he has never come back again. There is always some crises in his life. His wife is quick to call the guys off the job, if they do not receive their 25% cash payment on arrival. Well on removal of my ceiling, my alarm system was damaged, they broke my panic button, solid wooden skirtings had to be replaced and also the light in the room was broken. So all in all, I am out of pocket and had to get another contractor to repair his terrible incomplete ceiling job and fit new cupboards. No carpenter was prepared to work with existing material that was damaged with removal by him.
