My colleague and I bought lounge suite, R19 000 and R20 000 respectively, from Trend designs almost two years ago. According to their advertisement and sales man, they are made up of full Italian leather. So far their product is not matching with what they claimed. The skin is peeling off. They sold me the first set which peeled off before the year can expire, went to complain and they exchange them. The same problem that I encountered with the first set is resurfacing now. The same is happening with my colleague's lounge suite.
We went to put our grievances before the store manager and were told that the guarantee of 2 years had expired as a result trend designs cannot assist us. He did not even want to comment on their product quality but emphasized on the guarantee which is not even stated on their brochure or receipt.
Somebody tell me, how possible that genuine leather can last for less than two years? I have seen cows, goats and sheep feeding under a scorching sun but never in my life saw their skin coming off and all of sudden normal cotton appears.
