We decided to revamp our kitchen, after weeks of consulting we went with Kitchen Delights owner (Gareth Roberts). I advised Gareth I did not want to deal with contractors because he is responsible, we agreed. As for formal contract, Gareth said he does not work with a contract because he had a bad experience before and the invoice would suffice as a binding document, foolishly we agreed.
As per the invoice there were 3 payments to be made and the full invoiced was paid even before the job was completed. When there were issues Gareth made an appearance other than that he was absent and worked remotely, this only changed when there were issues or I complained. When asked why he was not visible he advised he had a project in Midrand he had to complete if not he would not be paid until Jan 2014. Ironic as I had paid him 140K for a job not completed. The invoiced stipulated an electrical certificate would be issued as part of the invoice; sign off of the kitchen are outstanding. I will say be tread with caution if you deal with Gareth or KITCHEN DELIGHTS I DON RECOMMEND this company.
