El's Panel Beating's work amounts to an amateur effort, poor customer service and customer exploitation.
I took my car in for a fender replacement and minor panelbeating to the bonnet edge.
1. I was told the card machine was 'out of order', so had to pay the balance of payment (after deposit), prior to collecting the car - I was left with no recourse to withhold funds for work not accepted.
2. I arrived to collect my car to find that 100km had been added to the mileage! Upon drop-off, I expressly asked whether my car would be driven off the lot and was promised that it would not (no remuneration or fuel refund received)
3. Untidy work: Replacement fender panel was fixed skew (joint lines not parallel), differs in finish from adjacent panels and irregular shoddy finish to line of bumper (no work required?). I was promised (and charged for) blending of the paint from the fender onto and over the driver's door. Asked to see their work, which looked ok and, on this basis, I accepted the quote.
4. I returned the car to get them to correct this - collected in the evening to find no work had been done!
