Bp Southern Africa
Water Contaminated Diesel - 78 days No Response

During August this year I filled my vehicle with Diesel from a local BP filling station. The vehicle engine seized to work somewhere that afternoon and after taking it to a mechanic, it was found that there had been a high volume of water inside the fuel line system. Apparently this happens whenever it rained heavy as the station is at the lower end of a hill.

I contacted BP who within a week responded by sending a breakdown to my house to fetch the vehicle. That happened more than 90 days ago. In the meantime I am walking to where I need to go, beg friends or rent expensive transport. To date I have not received any response from BP, except from the mechanic who now requests storage fees from me if my vehicle is to be released.

I have sent a fax again yesterday hoping for a reply. If this matter cannot be resolved and the holding tanks at the concerned station had not been inspected properly I will do the right thing and warn other consumers by posting the name and town of the station concerned.

My intentions are not to be vindictive, however taking the emotional and financial strain on my family, I think I owe it to fellow consumers, especially during the holiday season
