Poor customer feedback leading to ten thousands

We recently bought a TIguan 1.4Tsi from PerryYamaha in Umhlanga. The engine light was on just before we bought it and was 'fixed' by VW Umhlanga. We have had the car for two months and was driving from CT on our way to Brandfort for a wedding when the car broke down just outside Bloemfontein.
We got the car to VW Lindsay Saker and was told that we would know exactly what was going on in less than an hour. After an hour, we got the call saying that it is more serious and it would take 7 hours. Being in the area for a wedding, we decided to take a rental and go to the wedding and leave the car. I phoned them every day to find out what was wrong and when it would be fixed, but got a reply that I will know that day or the next morning. This went on and I only received feedback this morning. That means 8 business days (excluding weekends) without knowing what is wrong with my car or when it 'could' be fixed. They advised me to keep the rental car and I have now had the rental for more than 10 days. I just found out the engine will be totalled as a piston is bent and I still could not get an estimated time it will be fixed. I now need to fly to CT and then back to fetch the car.
