BMW South Africa
Refusing to take responsibilty for a misdiagnose

I took my car for an oil leak. The service manager told me that they will need the car for about a week. When I collected my car it was not washed and the engine was dirty. When asked why the engine was not cleaned, I was told they do not cleaned engine. This sounde a bit unbelievable for. Since I colllecte the car after 5pm I drove home without inspecting if the oil leak was fixed. After 2 days I checked the engine only to discover that the oil was still leaking from the same spot. I drove to the dealership and I was told that the oil leak was caused by an oil overfill. The technician that worked on my car (Zahier) advised me to drive the car for about a 1000 km and if they oil leak is still there I must bring the car back. After doing as instructed, the oil leak was still visble. When I went back to the dealership, I was informed that the problem was now a vacuum pipe and I must pay R7000 to fix it. I informed them that it does not make sense that they did not pick this up when I brought in the car the first time. I asked to speak to the dealer principal and Tersia told me I was not allowed to speak to him. To cut the long story short, I was told that there is nothing they can do.
