Stuttaford Van Lines
Truck causing damage to tree

Monday morning, 29 July 2013, at about 07:00 I returned home from the weekend. We stay on a corner of a small dead end street and a larger broad street. On my return I found the truck standing in the broad street. As I turned into the smaller street where our gate is, I noticed the tree on the corner by our gate had been badly damaged. I had to rush off to work and figured the truck would still be there the afternoon.

Coming home from work the truck was still there, except that the tractor and smaller front trailer was now in our smaller street removing a neighbour's furniture. I suspected the truck damaged the tree and could not make the tight turn, so I approached the men and asked politely if it was perhaps their truck that struck the tree (a neigbour was with me at the time). The larger of the men immediately got on his horse and said they are busy and that it was not them. I looked at the space between the tractor and trailer and surely there was still branches on the diesel tanks and stuck in places. He aggressively said: "Those come from Rustenburg" and "Who says it was your tree, it could have been anyone's".

Accidents happen, but such behavior is unacceptable.
