Total South Africa
Poor Maintenance leads to Poor Service

Hello,

My family and I stopped at the Total Garage on the N2 South near Nandi Drive in Durban on Monday the 17th of June at 5pm. It is a fairly large petrol station with 14 bays available for filling up. Unfortunately not when we went to fill up. Only 4 bays were available! When we asked the service attendant why he replied that the petrol pumps had not been serviced in sometime and therefore they were out of order. I asked if it was a shortage of petrol and he again confirmed it was a maintenance issue. I waited in the queue to fill up and upon payment was asked to move my car away from the pump so another car could fill while the only card machine (only 1) was being shared amongst all the attendants. When I asked why there was only 1 for such a large petrol station the attendant replied that there were only two machines available for chip cards and one was out of order because of a battery issue. I was left speechless that such a large petrol station could allow maintenance issues to get to a point that almost brings it to a standstill. I'm not returning in a hurry. I'm going to my nearest Engen Garage in future.
