Yamaha
Completely Dishonest and Poor Service

I was buying a second hand motorbike which Centurion Yamaha was holding for a client of theirs. It was a Kawasaki KDX 200.

The previous owner had ridden lightly twice after it had been 'fully serviced' by Yamaha.

I asked the Workshop to clean the carbs and give me a general opinion on the bike. But before this I asked them to quote me. They told me anywhere between R300-700. They 'finished' the job and the workshop assistant rang me to say the bike was in good nick. She then sent me through the bill which was R759 - R60 odd for carbs clean, R200 bucks for sundries and the rest for LABOUR! I was shocked but then I thought, being a premium brand, one would pay for a premium service.

I bought the bike and took it to a friends house, who happens to know a lot about enduro bikes. He spent 5 minutes poking around and looking at it and said there was no way they had done a service or cleaned the carbs properly. Some connections were loose, air filter was almost hanging off, the clutch pedal was completely loose...

Anyway, after few days of riding. Bike came back and same friend opened the carbs to find ancient gunk from old petrol. I wrote to Yamaha but no reply...

AVOID THEM!
