I recently had a very bad experience with A company called Golden Opportunities / Earn Abroad in conjunction with a company in the USA called Ingalls Honey Inc. Golden opportunities placed us with a bee keeper in Iowa. They promised us that all living and travel expenses would be covered. including plane tickets to and from the United States. We spent 9 months working in the United States for Ingalls Honey where we were treated really badly by John and Jim Ingalls. The housing conditions were appalling and they worked us like slaves.
Upon leaving the United States John Ingalls refused to pay us what he owed to us because he said that we did not fulfill our contract and we were leaving 1 week early (even though he agreed to this). Heleen van Tonder and her company Golden Opportunities LLC (who were supposed to be our representatives in the United States) were helping the employers to cheat us out of this money. Eventually they cheated us out of $1000 each.
I would like to advise anyone who is thinking of working in the United States as a seasonal worker... Stay FAR away from Golden Opportunities LLC/ Earn Abroad and ESPECIALLY Ingalls Honey Inc out of Bancroft Iowa.
