I just want to thank the manageress and staff of the Hungry Lion, Voortrekker Road, Bellville for going out of her way, close to closing time to help us. Even though it was close to closing time, she was busy with stocktaking, while the cashier took the last orders and everyone else in the shop was cleaning and getting ready to go home and enjoy the last bit of the weekend.
We ordered ice cream and decided, while eating, that we wanted the Sunday lunch special. When I got to the counter, the cashier informed me that they only had spicy chicken left, which is not something I enjoy, so we decided to leave it. When I got to the table to get my stuff, the manageress came and asked if we would wait, as she would make us some regular chicken. I was wowed!!
In my experience, shops open when they want and the customer have to wait while the staff have their morning coffee and gab about their exploits the previous night, then only do they get to unpacking the stock and readying their tills. An half an hour, sometimes more before closing time, they start packing up and giving you the evil eye if you dare enter the shop. Thank you, I applaud your great service!!
