Apathetic service and no drinks

My husband and I, with two friends went to Koi Sandton for dinner a few days ago last week. We were sorely disappointed. Notwithstanding drinks ordered when we were seated, these did not arrive. Two drinks were brought to the table, however, the other two did not. The waiter advised that some ingredient for the pineapple & ginger martini as well as the Jackie Chan were finished therefore the two drinks were no longer available. Further drinks orders were taken and yet again some time later we were again informed that ingredients for those cocktails too were not available. We ordered sushi & for the main meals, de-boned baby chicken, crispy beef stir fry, wasabi mash & spring rolls, traditional pad thai. The lethargy from the staff was pronounced- no managers were visible, the food was satisfactory, however, not as we had expected, the entire ambiance was lacking. Was this service due to the holiday season or is this the norm at Koi? I certainly would have appreciated a better dining experience, especially since we had gone to Koi to impress our guests with what we believed from the fab reviews, would be a memorable evening however, sadly will not be returning to it.
