We are regular customers at Romans Pizza, Wilrogate, Roodepoort for the past 4 years. For the first time in 4 years we had a really bad experience. We arrived at Romans at around 19:30 ordered 2 glasses of sherry which was no problem. We also ordered 3 bowls of minestrone soup as starters and these were served COLD with teaspoons as they had no soup spoons!!! Please note that this was on a Friday evening and at this time the restaurant was not close to busy. The waiter also informed us that they asked Management to buy spoons which they are still waiting for and only have 4 spoons in the restaurant (ridiculous for that size of restaurant). At around 20:15 we ordered another 1 glass of sherry and was informed that they had no sherry left and served us with the last 2 glasses of sherry (on a Friday evening!!!). We ordered a glass of wine which was served in a chipped glass where I almost cut my finger on. Also we found a group of people at a table who brought in a bottle of Sprite which they used inside the restaurant. May I take my own bottle of sherry with? Romans Pizza will not see me again soon after spending thousands of rands there in the last 4 years. WAITER NEED TRAINING!!!
