My friend & I went out for my birthday to my favorite restaurant. I ordered chicken livers for my main. As I was eating I came across something which was not a chicken liver, I immediately spat it out. It looked like either a kidney, giblet or heart. I did not finish my meal, I was completely put off after that. When the waiter came to get the plates I told him that there was something in the chicken livers which was not a liver. Shortly afterwards, Sean came to tell me that it was in fact a heart and it is normal to find hearts in the livers. He went on to say that they come like that from the supplier and there is nothing they can do about it.
I thought that sounded strange as I've been eating chicken livers for years at various restaurants and have never ever before come across a heart. Since that night I have been telling various friends about the incident (one of whom is a chef) and they all say that should never happen. There should be no hearts in your chicken livers, especially in an upper class restaurant like Kream.
I am very disappointed that I was to and made to look like fool for complaining when it was in fact a legitimate complaint.
