Planned, researched and chose The Eatery as our venue for Christmas lunch, had guests from Australia and UK. Thought good location and tasty food. We were sent a menu, offered us a glass of Merlot Rose on arrival, never to be seen. The agreement was for the lunch to be buffet, the entree buffet was lovely. That was the end of good food. The main course meats were over cooked, dry and no taste, except for the Pavlova, dessert was a joke. They specified in menu 'Rustic Vanilla Chocolate Block' we did not literally expect that to be what was being served... huge slabs of cooking chocolate on a white plate. No rustic scenes!! One could not eat this. After paying R475 pp plus beverages I was not happy. Talked with friends and they said I must complain, wrote an email to restaurant, 8th Jan, do not want to apologise or explain and say i left it too long to complain! Slow response! I feel they have the wrong attitude and I will never step foot there again. Plus I will continue to joke about their lovely dessert!! Everyone seems to forget customer satisfaction today, there are so many other restaurants, wine estates we can go to in future. Such a pity for our guests!!!
