I recently bought a coffee shop in the Foreshore of Cape Town, which I transformed into a French-style Bistro. As the existing business catered more for breakfasts and lunches, their coffee sales where somewhat higher than that of an evening style Bistro. Euro Caffe was the coffee supplier, who also supplied the coffee machine.
When Euro Caffe noticed that the coffee sales where not to their liking, they continuously called to query why we were not buying more coffee, and always during our busy lunch time service, between 1 and 2pm. I would ask them if I could call them after lunch. This was not good enough for the lady on the phone, who would just keep talking asking why I was not ordering more coffee and whether we were using another supplier. Mimmo, the owner who refused to ever talk to me on the phone when I called, let alone in person, instructed his staff to come and collect the machine with not even one days notice, and as usual, in the middle of our busy lunch trade. The whole transition in changing suppliers could have been so much more amicable and dealt with in a non-vindictive way. New restaurants - BEWARE!.. (edited by Hellopeter.com).
