FNB refuses to refund 1time ticket

My son was 1 of the unfortunate people 2 have purchased 1time tickets be4 they went under. He was due 2 fly 2 CT 4 a wedding & had 2 purchase tickets via another airline 2 attend the wedding. When he made enquiries 2 FNB 4 a refund, this is the letter he received from them.

Kindly be advised that we have conducted an investigation into the transaction, and have found that the disputed amount in question was electronically transferred from your credit card account and not debited to your credit card account by the merchant.

An electronic funds transfer is deemed to be a cash transaction i.e. this type of third party payment is in essence a withdrawal of cash, and a deposit thereof, and therefore the transaction is considered a cash transaction.

So please tell me, if I book my ticket via internet, the only way 2 pay 4 it, is by supplying my cc details be4 the transaction will be completed. Why is this now suddenly considered a cash transaction?
