After moving from ABSA platinum to potentiate, I received an email notification me of a NAEDO TRACK INTL transactionR3, 475.28, no ref given which (given the number of unexplained NAEDO issues listed on hellopeter and other sites caused some distress).
When I phoned ABSA I was told it was a phishing, then flatly informed that notifyme doesn't work by email (both statements untrue - the employee did not apologise for the error).
I then had to phone the credit card division (not the no. on my card) which confirmed that this was my credit card being paid, that only the notification had changed, and that this had always been a NAEDO. When I queried this, the ABSA employee admitted that he had no basis for this claim and offered to request a 'notification' for me. I asked that, having set up an stop order (not NAEDO) and having authorized no change in the nature of the stop order I be able to speak to someone who has the facts. This did not happen was I told that if I was distressed I could have called earlier). Finally all I could do was lay a complaint. I was put on hold for 20 minutes. In total I'd spent an hour on the phone. Complaint as yet unresolved.
