It is a disgrace that for the umpteenth time I come across a traffic intersection where the the traffic lights are not working and you have Outsurance Pointsmen visible however not doing anything to regulate the flow of traffic at the intersection. What is the use of them being at the intersection at a given time without doing what we hope they have been sent to do.
Yesterday during peak-hour traffic at the intersectionof Peter Rd and Beyers Naude, there were two pointsmen visible however at 17h30, the one had its helmet on and was lazing on the motorcycle while the colleague was having a leisurely chat on the cellphone, this while chaos prevailed with vehicles entering the intersection.
I suppose their shift comes to an end at a particular time but when you are at the intersection and observe the traffic flow to be hectic, it doesn't help to do that extra bit to help out.
This is not the first time this has happened and have witnessed it on many other occasions... it is a disgrace! Why are these people sent out in the first place as they're as useless as our traffic officers who only perform their traffic duties in order to obtain a bribe.
