Debit orders without my permission

It comes with great sadness that i am having to use this site to express my disappointment.

I had an FNB account and i discovered that money was debited. From my account monthly. I went into an FNB branch and it was found that a company was debiting a installment from some man whom I never knew. In the branch the solution was for me to open a new account only to have it happen again. I am now banking with a different bank with no problem.

To this day no FNB representative bothered to follow up on my query. No money was paid back to me. How was I protected by my bank? I have never shared my banking details with anyone. I had no accounts with any company. No investigation was done to even get to the bottom of all this.
