Standard bank - moving backwards - useless

So I wanted to change from my bank to STD bank, did the whole app over the phone, When I got to the bank I was told because the person who did the app for me over the phone didn't ask If I wanted to have an overdraft (which I currently have) I can't have one and must wait 6 month's then re apply. NOW WHO WOULD LEAVE THEIR CURRENT BANK FOR LESS BENEFITS?? Since last year December I have been struggling to close this account, Spoke to numerous people from the call center to head office, I've been assured it has been closed but yet again I'm gettings letter and sms's that I owe them service fees of R100 a month for all these month's, I have paid it twice in the past 6 month's cause they can only close the account when it's paid in fully. They can see there is no transactions on the account for the last 6 month's but has been charging fees after THEY told me it has been closed. Is STD bank busy going UNDER? that they need to start from people? This morning Anthony at collections dept threatened to put me on ITC because of their stupid incompitence and then hung up on me? Customer service? I won't pay the fees as I dont use the account and TOLD them to close the account months ago.
