Good day,
I wrote to metropolitan life requesting that my life policy be surrendered due to unhappiness regarding numerous queries I had, I then called call center the following day to check if letter was received since I did not want the debit order to go off on the 25th of January 2013. I was told to wait 48 hours for a faxed or emailed letter to be reflected on system if received. I then asked that policy be surrendered since my queries could not be answered, the consultanted then informed me that the queries I had were being investigated and she will put a note that I wanted to surrender the policy & this will be enforced once the letter is received.
She was to call and finalise the surrendering of policy next day, but this never happened. I had specifically stated that no premium should be deducted on the 25th of jan as I was canceling the policy and needed no further cover for feb, this was obviously ignored as a premium was still deducted. Can my premium be refunded please as well as my surrender value which when I called I was told its R5003, please assist me. I have been clear in my letter dated 21st that no premium must be taken & my surrendering as well the telephone.
