FICA blocked my card

FNB sent me an SMS saying that I needed to update my Fica. Presumably the bank thinks that I have somehow become a criminal in the past year and that by sending them a lease (which they don't verify and could be false) and an ID book they can protect the world from terrorism. That's fine and dandy.

I sent them my lease and a copy of my ID book. They reply back saying that they need my most current ID book, and then promptly block my account.

So now it's 5 days before Christmas and my cheque account is blocked. I guess I will take my kids to the CEO of FNB and explain to them that this is the Grinch who their Christmas presents.

Really FNB... blocking my account for such a trivial reason is really not acceptable. Especially since I have had a fairly long relationship with you, you have multiple forms of identification from me, and you recently couriered me my card. Surely the fact that your courier saw me, my ID book, and where I work you can at least allow my kids to get Christmas presents? I sent you the new ID book yesterday and my account is still blocked. It seems your efficiency in inconveniencing people and not helping.
